il Duomo

Mecca of fashion enthusiasts and lovers of luxury and beauty, Il Duomo boutique was founded in 1985 in an elegant neoclassical building built in the square where the cathedral of Novara rises. The location, originally constructed from the fervid creativity of Vittorio Gregotti, was the subject of a recent restyling commissioned by Ercole Cellino who in 2017 took over the boutique previously owned by the Greppi family. Carrying on a family tradition closely linked to the world of fashion retail, Ercole has chosen to open a new chapter in the history of Il Duomo starting from a rebranding of the women's section and the introduction of a space completely dedicated to menswear, continuing with the launch of the e-commerce site and with the landing of the brand on social networks and on the Farfetch market place. The renovation of course had to include all the location’s spaces: originally designed by Mauro Galantino, — the architect responsible for the City Life district in Milan — they now take on a more dynamic, functional and contemporary feel while respecting the original architectural harmony. An area of 550 square meters and eleven windows overlooking the central square lends itself to the latest collections of some of the most important brands in the world hung among elegant marble and mirrors.

The passion of Ercole was inherited from his mother and grandmother who were owners of a network of 12 multi-brands between Cagliari and Costa Smeralda. This passion over the years has been fuelled through studies and a love for experimentation and research. It’s also been fuelled by the perfect mix of intuition, innovative spirit, careful observation of new media, and a great respect for the DNA of the boutique. This has signified that in recent times Il Duomo has become not only a point of historical reference for long time customers but also a hub for millennials constantly in the search of new items.

The secret lies in the balanced presence of iconic and consolidated brands, such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Prada and Dior, and trendy brands that have appeared in the latest fashion scenarios (Attico, GCDS, Fear of God, Craig Green). Ercole and his team, made up of young enthusiasts are attentive to the development of new trends and in doing so have laid the foundations for Il Duomo to become a solid and innovative reality within the vast Italian panorama of luxury retail fashion.
