Adidas Originals by Craig Green SS21
For their Spring Summer 2021 release, adidas Originals and Craig Green have officially introduced two new sneaker styles that were born from a prototype from Craig Green’s AW20 show. Dubbed CG ZX PHORMAR and CG ZX 2K PHORMAR ll , the silhouettes were crafted with the qualities of functionality and simplicity in mind in a way where the design in itself was built to maximise functionality without sacrificing creativity. “I’ve always been interested in design for function and how this can shape an aesthetic. Working closely with adidas, we were able to create a new way of constructing the upper of a shoe, using a single piece of fabric and a series of cords. These work together to create a structure that’s easily foldable yet also strong,” explained Craig Green. Both shoes with the intention of using the fewest individual pieces as possible using intrinsic cording details that offer new, distinctive and interesting silhouettes. The CG ZX PHORMAR features an upper that’s crafted from translucent nylon, and pieced together with white cording that is only visible under the nylon and then emerges at the heel and the top of the tongue which is a signature aspect of the designers technique. The details of the shoe are crafted specifically for the comfort of the wearers feet with an internal stretched lining that hugs the feet and heel. This silhouette is available in royal blue and white lightweight ripstop nylon. The CG ZX 2K PHORMAR ll on the other hand features the same style of construction but is crafted in matt woven nylon and PU coated warp knit — available in beige nylon , black or white. Both silhouettes feature the classic adidas Original triple stripe, graphics on their tongue and Craig Green branding on the heel. These two new innovative silhouettes are now available in stores and online.
