Matthew Williams merges a metropolitan sensibility with the will to experiment, using archetypal garments as a testing ground to create reinvented items that are both functional and unexpected. His path within Moncler Genius, in this sense, has been an ongoing exploration that merges the 1017 ALYX 9SM codes, from hardware detailing to crafty surface treatment, with the Moncler DNA. In his fourth Moncler collection, Williams explores once more the face-off of the natural and the technical, keeping the shapes bold and functional, and the silhouettes immediate and layered. The natural is highlighted through materials such as wool knit, leather, and shearling. The technical is expressed with an array of lightweight and ripstop nylons, and neoprene. Bringing the under-layer material to the shell, knit is used to create the whole puffer itself. The shifting of codes, elsewhere, translates into a nappa leather puffer. Garment-dyeing is another signature on duvet jackets that feature bold metal buckle closures and lambskin inner vests.
