​​Etro SS22 - 70’s Chic

For Spring Summer 2022, creative director Veronica Etro re-hashed memories and recollections of the early 70’s with a collection that elevated the typical concept of the hippie aesthetic. “In this period I came really close to mindfulness, yoga, and meditation: There was a spiritual awakening, like for many people, I think. This thing of finding balance within, that was also very typical of the early ’70s,” she explained. With this collection, she reinterpreted and embodied the spirit of freedom through modern eyes with mandala embroideries , paisleys blended with flower printed florals, and all sorts of lively motifs and graphics. These were featured on a variety of silhouettes including new experimental additions, such as tailored suits, chiffon dresses , denim suits , spaghetti strapped backless tops , slip dresses , cropped bombers metal mesh skirts, track pants , work shirts among other pieces. The collection is an abundance of separates that offer up the options for mixing and matching pieces as one pleases, as well as wearing full looks that are quite a statement in themselves. Each piece is a celebration of freedom and a rekindling of the free spirited vibe of the 70’s channelled through the wardrobe of a modern Etro woman.
