Khaite FW21 - Women of vintage NYC
Designer Catherine Holstein drew inspiration from the women of 1920’s New York for Khaite’s FW21 collection. “I’ve always loved that Café Society moment in New York, but I was thinking more about how the ’20s were a response to the 1918 flu,” she explained. It was all about the world post pandemic of the roaring 20’s when women got rid of their corsets and embraced fluidity and sexuality with slips and lingerie, which also speaks to the world we are currently moving towards . The collection included faux furs, cable knits , cashmere knits, romantic cotton dresses , laces , and sensual draped gowns that speaks to an era of women taking charge and finding comfort in redefining themselves and their sexualities .
